The British High Commission has announced in a brief report on changes to UK Visas and Immigration customer care operations. This change includes the charge for email enquiries by visa customers outside the UK as from June 1.
That is, a fee of £5.48 for customers who contacted the UK Visas and Immigration by email.
The charge includes the first email enquiry sent and any follow-up emails to and from the contact centre relating to the same enquiry.
This was in turn made available to Nigerians in Abuja on Monday by the Media Officer, Mr. Joseph Abuku.
The change in the customer care operations is as a result of the fact that it is now being handled by a new commercial partner, Sitel UK.
Thos new contract will ensure number of changes for customers. And the change would in turn help the UK government reduce costs. And ensure that those who benefits directly from the immigration system make an appropriate contribution.
Aside this, other changes were also made. Ranging from change in phone numbers and opening hours to the reduction in number of languages offered to eight as against the twenty languages that was provided for in 2014.
The languages include; English, Spanish, Russian, Hindi, Mandarin, Arabic, French and Cantonese.
And as regards the contact through email, customers will need to pay using a credit or debit card. The charge includes the first email enquiry you send. As well as any follow-up emails to and from the contact centre relating to the same enquiry.
If you do not have access to a credit or debit card, you may choose to use a trusted 3rd party such as an agent or sponsor.
